Information about personal-data processing on 22mi.de.
1. Controller
The controller for this website is Xiangyue Liu, operating 22MI Research as an independent research initiative in Germany. Privacy enquiries can be sent to contact@22mi.de. Further operator information is available in the Impressum.
2. Hosting and delivery
This website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages and delivered through Cloudflare's network. When you access the site, technically necessary connection data such as IP address, request time, requested resource, browser information and security-related metadata may be processed to deliver and protect the website. Cloudflare acts as a service provider for hosting, content delivery, security and, where configured, transactional email delivery. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
3. Contact form
The contact form is processed by a server-side Cloudflare Pages Function operated for 22mi.de. Before an enquiry is accepted, the function performs technical validity and abuse-prevention checks. These include form-field validation, a honeypot check, connection-based rate limiting, and verification that the domain part of the submitted email address publishes a usable mail-exchange (MX) record. Only the email domain, not the full email address or message content, is queried for this DNS check.
Where Cloudflare Turnstile is enabled for the contact form, it is used as an abuse-prevention mechanism. Turnstile may process technical browser, device, connection and security signals necessary to distinguish legitimate visitors from automated submissions. The form uses an interaction-only presentation so that most legitimate visitors do not see an additional challenge. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
After the technical checks succeed, the enquiry is sent to the designated 22MI mailbox using Cloudflare Email Service. The submitted name, email address, organization, topic and message are included in that email so that the enquiry can be reviewed and answered. The sender's submitted email address is used as the Reply-To address so that replies can be directed to the person who contacted us.
Please do not use the form to send confidential, proprietary, patient, health, authentication, financial or otherwise sensitive information. If a collaboration requires protected information, a separate secure channel can be arranged.
4. Contact by email
If you contact us directly by email, we process the information you provide to respond to the enquiry and, where applicable, to take steps toward a research or business relationship. Email metadata may also be processed by the email providers involved in transmission and storage.
5. Cookies and analytics
22mi.de currently does not use Google Analytics, advertising pixels, behavioural profiling or non-essential cookie-based tracking. The site does not intentionally load third-party web fonts. Technically necessary security mechanisms used by Cloudflare may process connection data.
6. Embedded third-party content
The current website does not embed social-media feeds, YouTube players or other marketing widgets. Security components used specifically to protect the contact form are described above. Links to external publications and privacy policies open the respective third-party website only after you click them.
7. Retention
Enquiry data are kept only as long as reasonably necessary to respond, document a collaboration, comply with legal obligations or resolve disputes. Short-lived technical rate-limit and verification data are used only for abuse prevention.
8. Your rights
Subject to the conditions of the GDPR, individuals may have rights including access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, objection and the right to lodge a complaint with a competent supervisory authority.
9. Changes
This privacy notice will be updated when the website adds new functions, providers, analytics, newsletters, user accounts or other data-processing activities.
